The Bridge
Residential Treatment Program
The Bridge is a 12-bed residential treatment program for homeless adults living with a major mental illness, many of whom also experience co-occurring conditions. The program works to address the complex needs of the clients, utilizing an integrated, individualized, and client-centered approach, operated 24 hours/day by staff trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health and substance use treatment.
Staff work with clients on the ongoing development of coping skills and the identification of behaviors that contribute to homelessness. To help individuals stabilize and develop goals that will move them toward the most independent, supportive, permanent living situation possible, staff and clients will work together to develop individual care plans. The program staff work closely with the Maine Department of Health & Human Services to identify individuals who may benefit from the Bridge Program.
