Early Head Start (EHS)
Who is eligible?
Pregnant women and families with children 3 years and younger that meet income guidelines are eligible.
What is the Early Head Start Home-Based Program?
Family Visitors meet with families weekly in their homes.
Using the Parents as Teachers curriculum, Family Visitors offer learning activities for children, share information with parents about their child’s education and development, support families in connecting with other programs and providers, and offer guidance around health, mental health, and nutrition.
The program also offers play groups each month with other families of young children.
Where is the program offered?
The program is offered in families’ homes throughout Cumberland County.
When do visits occur?
Family visits occur weekly throughout the year.
What is the cost to participate?
The program is FREE for eligible families.
Are Interpreters provided?
Interpreters are available as needed at no cost to the family.
